Production Notes: Exclusive sneak peek at PtM stage scene

Thanks for going on this journey developing a whole new flying musical with us! We love bringing you along for the ride and appreciate your support; as a thank you, we wanted to show you the first look at some scenery for Petalwink: The Musical! One of the many cool things about this production (in case the fantastic flying, the incredible music and the fabulous story and lovable characters aren't enough), is the fact that the scenery is all going to be projected onto a scrim or cyc! That means the illustrator's (well...my) artwork will be a part of every performance bringing you right into Petalwink's bright, colorful, watercolor world of Newman Forest.

As our composer and lyricist Deborah Hurwitz was working with the script and writing the song that introduces Newman Forest and its inhabitants, she asked me to get her a sketch of Newman Forest during Fairy Fest. Fairy Fest is the party Newman Forest has at the last snow of winter as the fairies get pumped up to do their jobs that will bring spring in all its glory. The painting I did for Deborah is now our first "scenery" piece--artwork that will be projected during the stage show. So enjoy a sneak peek and stay tuned for more details!

Be sure to check back every Monday for production notes.

Fairy Best,

Angela and Team PTM
